FRIENDS TO PRESENT “INTO THE WOODS” NOV.
18 to 20
MOORESTOWN,
NJ – Moorestown Friends School will present “Into
The Woods,” Steven Sondheim’s musical
romp in which fairy tale characters learn to deal
with the consequences of “happily ever after” endings,
at 7:30 p.m. Fri., Nov. 18 and Sat., Nov. 19 and
at 2 p.m. Sun. Nov. 20.
Tickets
are $12 for adults, $8 for students and $25 for premium
seats. All seats are assigned. They can be purchased
in person at the door, or ordered in advance by calling
the school at (856)235-2900, ext. 378 or e-mailing
orders to MFStickets@comcast.net. All tickets
purchased after Nov. 11 will be available for pickup
at the time of the performance at the box office.
“Into
The Woods,” which opened on Broadway in 1987,
won widespread acclaim, including three Tony awards
(Best Score, Best Book and Best Actress in A Musical).
It also won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award
for Best Musical, and five 1997 Drama Desk Award,
including Best Musical, Best Lyrics and Best Book.
A
28-member cast will stage the play at MFS, with MFS
students also playing in the orchestra.

In
the lead roles are Westampton senior Ryan Mulligan
as the narrator, Collingswood senior Ashley Alter
as Cinderella, Moorestown sophomore Wyatt Cain as
Jack and Moorestown senior Emily Riggins as Jack’s
Mother.
Merchantville
sophomore Kevin Schlagle plays the Baker and Medford
junior Anna Tate is the Baker’s wife. Anni
Weisband, a Moorestown junior, is Little Red Riding
Hood, Moorestown senior Whitney Wolf is the Witch,
and Lumberton senior Jared Smith is the Wolf.

Friends’ play is directed by Arts Chairperson
Rich Marcucci of Haddon Heights, who is aided by
Choral Music Director Ed Robertson of Lumberton. |
