FRIENDS NAMES LOWER SCHOOL DIRECTOR
MOORESTOWN –
Head of School Laurence R. Van Meter has announced the appointment
of Kelly Goula, an adjunct professor of education at the
University of Delaware and an educational consultant, as
Moorestown Friends School's Lower School Director. In that
role, she will oversee the educational program for PreSchoolers
through fourth-graders.
Goula replaces
Phyllis Taylor, a Mount Laurel resident who retired after
12 years in the role.
Goula, 38, of Mount
Laurel, was appointed effective July 1. She has taught kindergarten,
first grade and third grade in public schools in New Jersey
and Pennsylvania. She has consulted with clients including
The School in Rose Valley and Radnor Township public schools.
Goula has a B.A.
magna cum laude from Drew University and an M.A. in education
from the University of Delaware.
“She impressed
the search committee with her intelligence, knowledge, listening
skills and managerial instincts,” noted Van Meter.
