MFS STUDENTS TO PRESENT THE TROJAN WOMEN

The Moorestown Friends School (MFS) Upper School will present The Trojan Women in the school auditorium Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m.

The Trojan Women is an ancient Greek classic written by Euripides.  The play explores the aftermath of a war that destroyed an entire society and left its inhabitants coping with loss, enslavement, and death.  Euripides' dramatic commentary offers insight into the effects of war as well as the complex motivations behind those who fight.  The MFS production offers both classical and modern perspectives on the themes of the play and incorporates excerpts from modern texts.

Tickets are $25 for Circle of Angels, $12 for Adults/Seniors and $8 for students/children. All seats are reserved. They can be purchased at the school’s reception desk in Stokes Hall from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or at the entrance each evening if available.

In lead roles are senior Andrew Bernard of Merchantville as Poseidon, juniors Rebecca Kutner (Medford) and Sarah Rosenbach (Mount Laurel) as Athena, senior Kate Maugeri (Haddonfield) as Hecuba, sophomore Tyler Catanella (Delran) as Talthybius, senior Anni Weisband (Moorestown) as Cassandra, sophomore Sarah Fischer (Cherry Hill) as Andromache, junior Richard Rinaldi (Shamong) as Menelaus, and senior Anna Tate (Medford) as Helen.

The MFS production of The Trojan Women is directed by Middle/Upper School drama teacher Mark Gornto (Philadelphia).
