MFS News October 1, 2009 TWO SENIORS NAMED NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SEMIFINALISTS
Two Moorestown Friends School seniors were recently recognized by the National Merit Scholarship® Program. Alison Barton and Jacob Montgomery were named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. Alison and Jacob are part of a group of approximately 16,000 high school seniors who are now eligible to apply to become Finalists. The 2008 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) served as an initial screen for more than 1.5 million entrants to the National Merit Scholarship Program. Semifinalists are the highest scorers in each of the 50 states and represent less than one percent of each state’s high school seniors. National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced beginning in April and concluding in July.
