Middle School / Upper School Citation Sources

How to Cite a Resource : A Guide for Library Research

"To cite or not to cite..that is the question..." or "Why?, When?, How?"

Students at Moorestown Friends School primarily use the MLA Format for citing works but sometimes you will need to use Turabian/Chicago for some types of sources; Science students may be required to use the APA format. While the formats require slightly different pieces of information the purpose is universal: To document your sources "to help readers identify and relocate your sources, ...to provide evidence that your writing is well-researched, ...and to give credit to the author of an original concept or theory," image, and/or words.
