Inside the Classroom...Kindergarten - Mrs. Tedesco

Shells, Legs, and Webbed Feet
"Oh my… We have the fortunate opportunity to have hermit crabs, caterpillars of a Black Swallowtail butterfly (now in chrysalis form), and frogs in our class.  All of the animals are part of a continuous observation of animals of ponds and wetlands. (Not the hermit crabs of course, they are just for fun!)  We will take an observational walk to our very own wetlands right on the MFS property!"

Audrey Tedesco, Kindergarten Teacher

Fifth Grade Teacher Kathy Cook was selected by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) as part of the third annual Teachers of the Future Program. The NAIS Teachers of the Future were selected from a large pool of nominees who inspire academic excellence in students and who serve as opinion leaders among their colleagues and peers. The Teachers of the Future were also chosen for their expertise in particular areas—environmentalism, globalism, technology, and equity and justice—which NAIS believes are hallmarks of a high-quality education for the 21st Century. As one of only 20 teachers nationwide chosen for the program, Cook will lead an online discussion forum designed to share innovative ideas and teaching techniques and she will create a demonstration video to inspire others.
Music Department Chair Brian Howard was also a NAIS Teacher of the Future in 2008-09.

Volunteer at MFS!

In August parents were sent a packet highlighting volunteer opportunities for the 2010-11 school year. Volunteering is a great way to share your interests, talents and time with the school while providing service to the MFS community.

To view and sign up for 2010-11 volunteer opportunities that support MFS CLICK HERE. Or, for more information on volunteering at MFS, contact Matt Nierenberg, Director of Parent & Alumni Programs, via e-mail or by phone at (856) 914-4416.

All-School Directories Distributed

2010-11 MFS All-School Directories were distributed at Lower School and Upper School Back-to-School Nights. Today directories are being mailed to all Middle School families who do not have a child in another division.
