Chris Kimberly Appointed Upper School Director

Moorestown Friends School Head of School Larry Van Meter recently announced the appointment of Christopher Kimberly as Upper School Director, effective July 1st, 2009. He will replace Matt Glendinning, who was hired in November as Head of School at Moses Brown School in Rhode Island where he will also begin July 1st, 2009.

“When I met with faculty, staff, students, and parents, it deepened my conviction that MFS would be a wonderful environment in which to work and educate my children,” said Kimberly. “I feel fortunate to be joining such a vibrant and welcoming community.”

Kimberly arrives from Emma Willard School, a highly regarded girls’ boarding school in Troy, NY. He is currently the Dean of Academics at the school, a position that is responsible for overseeing the school curriculum and faculty. Kimberly has a B.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University and a M.S. in the Natural Sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Parents of Students of Color Meeting- March 26
Parents of Students of Color is a group that meets periodically to socialize and network within and across school divisions. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 26 at 7 p.m. in the MacColl Room in Stokes Hall. Please note that this meeting was rescheduled from March 12.

Baseball Team Honors Late Assistant Coach Al Sherby
The MFS varsity baseball team will sport on their caps the initials of Al Sherby, the long-time assistant coach who passed away in June 2008. On Wednesday, April 1, prior to the Foxes opener vs. Abington Friends, a pre-game ceremony will be held during which a team cap will be presented to the Sherby family by the team.
