Academics - Lower School Meet the Director
Kelly Goula
Ms. Goula has designed and presented a number of professional development programs for teachers, including programs on using the Internet as an instructional tool in the classroom, on curriculum mapping, on instructional methods including problem base learning learning and lesson study, and on classroom management. She worked with a number of schools, colleges and universities, and school districts on these projects, including the Radnor Township Schools (PA), the School in Rose Valley (PA), the Bucks County (PA) Interdisciplinary Unit, Rockaway Township (NJ) Schools, Millersville University (PA), the College of Saint Elizabeth (NJ), and public schools in Chicago and Wilmington, Delaware. In 2004-2005, Ms. Goula designed and implemented a year-long national symposium on progressive education hosted by the School in Rose Valley. She has also presented workshops at conferences of the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Teacher Educators and the International Reading Association. In the 1990s, Ms. Goula worked as a third grade teacher in Radnor Township and as a kindergarten, first grade, and third grade teacher in Rockaway. She has completed all coursework for a Ph.D. from the University of Delaware, has an M.A. in Cognition and Instruction from the University of Delaware, and has a B.A. from Drew University.
